CITY OF FAIRBURY, NEBRASKA

COUNCIL AGENDA              

 

TUESDAY, JANUARY 6, 2009, 7:30 p.m.

 

All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as deemed appropriate.  The City Council reserves the right to go into executive session in accordance with Section 84-1410.

 


 

A.     CALL TO ORDER

1.      Pursuant to Section 84-1412(8) of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the entry of this meeting room and is available for viewing by the public.

2.      Roll Call

 

B.    SUBMITTAL OF REQUESTS FOR FUTURE ITEMS

Individuals who have appropriate items for City Council consideration should complete the Request for Future Agenda Items form located near the entrance of the meeting room.  If the issue can be handled administratively without Council action, notification will be provided.  If the item is scheduled for a committee or Council meeting, notification of the date will be given.

 

C.    CONSENT AGENDA

1.      Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of December 16, 2008.

2.      Approval of the minutes of the special meeting of December 22, 2008.

3.      Approval of claims.

 

D.    PUBLIC HEARINGS

 

E.     CURRENT BUSINESS

1.      Consideration and approval of $2,000.00 contribution to the Fairbury Youth Involvement (FYI) Center. 

2.      Approval of the inspection of the aerial truck for the fire department and final acceptance by the City.

3.      Laura Alsman/Fairbury Journal-News ~ Discussion of downtown Christmas lights.

4.      Presentation to the Community Fund Drive for Christmas decorations by David Bargen on behalf of Rembolt Ludtke LLP law firm.

5.      Consideration of authorizing Mayor Ward to sign the Deed of Reconveyance for the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation (JCEDC) building loan.

6.      Consideration and approval of acquisition of drug dog from Jefferson County.

7.   Update on pending litigation.

 

F.     RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES

1.  Resolution No. 711 authorizing the Street Superintendent to install a fifteen minute     

     parking stall on the West side of G Street between 4th and 5th Street.

2.  Resolution No. 712 authorizing the Street Superintendent to paint the curb cut on the

      West side of G Street between 4th and 5th Street.
