CITY OF FAIRBURY, NEBRASKA

COUNCIL AGENDA              

 

TUESDAY, APRIL 21, 2009, 7:30 p.m.

 

All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as deemed appropriate.  The City Council reserves the right to go into executive session in accordance with Section 84-1410.

 


 

A.     CALL TO ORDER

1.      Pursuant to Section 84-1412(8) of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act a current copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the entry of this meeting room and is available for viewing by the public.

2.      Roll Call

 

B.    SUBMITTAL OF REQUESTS FOR FUTURE ITEMS

Individuals who have appropriate items for City Council consideration should complete the Request for Future Agenda Items form located near the entrance of the meeting room.  If the issue can be handled administratively without Council action, notification will be provided.  If the item is scheduled for a committee or Council meeting, notification of the date will be given.

 

C.    CONSENT AGENDA

1.      Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting of April 7, 2009.

2.      Approval of claims.

3.      Approval of the March 2009 Reconciliation Report.

4.      Approval of the appointments of Ed Friesen, Brad Kuzelka, and Joseph Parker to the Parks & Recreation Special Committee, with Ed Friesen serving as chair.

 

D.    PUBLIC HEARINGS

1.      Set Public Hearing concerning a Request for Special Use Permit (SU-2009-01) from

Holly Troxel for a home occupation (photography studio) at the residence located at

921 22nd Street.

2.      Set Public Hearing concerning the Proprietary Budget and Budget Summary for the City of Fairbury Utilities for May 1, 2009 to April 30, 2010.

 

 

E.     CURRENT BUSINESS

1.      Consideration of Oil Containment System for Spill Prevention Control and Counter Measures (SPCC).

2.      Consideration of request from Gloria Poteet regarding garbage service charges.

3.      Consideration of K-9 Agreement between the City of Fairbury, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and Jefferson County.

4.      Consideration of City and BOPW purchasing GIS software.

5.      Presentation by Police Chief Brooks Bryan of the 2008 Police Department Annual Report.

6.      Consider Committing City of Fairbury/Softball Association Management Contract to Parks & Recreation Special Committee with Instructions to Review and Administer.

7.      Approval of transferring $10,857.57 from the General Fund ~ $9,027.36 to the Police Fund and $1,830.21 to the Library Fund for year-end closing entries.

 

F.     RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES

1.      Resolution No. 721 Authorizing the City to Enter into Purchase Agreement for Property Located at 411 A Street.
