NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the City Council of the City of Fairbury, Nebraska during its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. on December 16, 2025 in the City Council Chambers located at City Hall, 612 D Street, Fairbury, Nebraska. The purpose of the public hearing is to obtain public comment prior to consideration by the City Council of authorizing the acquisition by the City of Fairbury, Nebraska of an interest in real property by purchase of a tract of land in the vicinity of 200 C Street, Fairbury, Nebraska 68352 in compliance with Neb. Rev. Stat. § 18-1755. The real property which is the subject of this notice and of the public hearing is more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of the South Half of Lot Ten (10), Block Thirty-eight (38), Original Town of Fairbury, Jefferson County, Nebraska; thence South 451 feet parallel to the center line of "C" Street to the southwest corner of Lot Eleven (11), Block Forty-seven (47); Southeasterly 170 feet, plus or minus, to a point intersecting the alley center line in Block Forty-seven (47) and the south line of Section Fifteen (15), Township Two (2) North, Range Two (2) East of the 6th P.M., in Jefferson County, Nebraska; thence East 115.6 feet along the center line of First Street; thence Northeasterly 469.9 feet, plus or minus, to a point on the south property line of Lot Twelve (12), Block Thirty-nine (39), which point lies 30 feet west of the center line of the alley in Block Thirty-nine (39); thence West 358 feet, plus or minus, to the southeast corner of Lot Twelve (12), Block Thirty-eight (38), thence North 125 feet to the northeast corner of the South Half of Lot Ten (10), Block Thirty-eight (38); thence West 142 feet to the place of beginning, all in the Original Town of Fairbury, Jefferson County, Nebraska.
Persons shall be given the opportunity to speak on the proposed acquisition or to submit written testimony for consideration by the City Council at said meeting.
